Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tickets

The Buccaneers became an NFL member in 1976 as one of the AFC West division. They moved to NFC central a year later in the league’s realignment. A contest was announced in naming the team and resulted in the nickname “Buccaneers”,  which is dedicated to the yearly Gasparilla Pirate Festival in Tampa. Originally owned by Tom McCloskey from Philadelphia, the team was then taken over by Hugh Culverhouse after McCloskey suffered from financial problems.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made improvement in 1978 – after posting a league-record of 26 consecutive loses; the Buccaneers won five games led by Anthony Davis, running back Ricky Bell, rookie quarterback Doug Williams, Dewey Selmon and Lee Roy. The Buccaneers astounded the fans by making it to first place. A year later, they were tied with the Chicago Bears in the Central Division. Led by Williams, the Buccaneers made it to the playoffs in 1981 and 1982 and became one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league.

The Buccaneers finished 9-7 win-lose record last season and made it to the playoffs. Michael Spurlock made a franchise record of the first kickoff return touchdown against the Falcons, earning the Special Team Player of the Week Award in the NFC. The Buccaneers is still one of the toughest defender in the league; but it is not enough without an effective offensive line. Tampa Bay needs fast productivity from Dexter Jackson and some magic in the offensive line to face the threat in the NFC south.

The Buccaneers started out as a gag but made it to the top in the NFL, bagging the Super Bowl in 2002, will there still be offense left in Joey Galloway and Jeff Garcia? Get your Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets now and watch the team defend their NFC south title and continue to compete at the Raymond James Stadium.
